FRIGHT NIGHT remake to take place in Las Vegas

This FRIGHT NIGHT remake is just getting ridiculous now, and I mean that in the most positive way possible. The new film is not only helmed by director Craig Gillespie (whose LARS AND THE REAL GIRL is one of my favorites), but it will star both Anton Yelchin and Colin Farrell (two actors I enjoy watching and look forward to seeing in a horror flick capacity).

But now they've gone and set the film in my own hometown - Las Vegas!

A report came out today that the Marti Noxon-penned remake is set to take place in the City of Sin - La$ Vega$. Other sites think that this new Vegas setting syncs up quite nicely with the reports that the Peter Vincent character "will be a Criss Angel-type." Surely, this dude will be some sort of awesome Strip-crawler, a new school lounge lizard, a bit of a hustler. Of course he'll fit in on the Strip.

However, part of the fun of FRIGHT NIGHT is the "killer next door" feeling that works so well in regular, normal neighborhoods. Fear not, FRIGHT NIGHT fans, Las Vegas is not just the Strip and hotels and casinos - people live there. There are normal neighborhoods! Lots of them! This news doesn't mean we're only going to be cruising the Strip, we just might get a taste of everyday suburbia in one of Vegas' innumerable master plan communities. The strip and suburban hell? Oh, I'm so sold.
