From Ninja Turtles to ninja bodybuilders: New set photos from Michael Bay’s PAIN AND GAIN

Producing the upcoming NINJA TURTLES reboot, Michael Bay is currently on the set of his new film, PAIN AND GAIN, dressing up Mark Wahlberg and Dwayne Johnson in ninja inspired bodybuilding costumes. Shooting for only $35 million dollars - Bay's lowest budget since BAD BOYS way back in 1995 - the film is based on the true story of a group of gym rats who wound up embarking on a murderous rampage involving kidnapping, extortion, and even torture. Originally reported by the Miami New Times in 1999, if even half of what actually happened appears in the movie version, the screen should be filled with steroids, strippers, and plenty of blood.

Some new images from the set have appeared today and the wardrobe displayed by the film's stars is striking to say the least. Looking like a couple of rejects of the villainous Cobra Kai from KARATE KID, the outfits say a lot about the characters and how they see themselves. They probably take themselves way too seriously while the rest of the world makes fun. Dwayne Johnson, Mark Wahlberg, and Anthony Mackie do look like they could kick some ass though.

Take a look at the new photos after the break.
