Full-length trailer for OUR IDIOT BROTHER embarrasses your family
At Sundance, the film was called MY IDIOT BROTHER. In theaters this August, it will be known as OUR IDIOT BROTHER. Name change or not, one thing is clear - there's an idiot brother in our midst. Well, he's not so much an idiot as just a hapless moron who doesn't quite fit in with his family. Paul Rudd is the titular brother, with a cast rounded out by some other great comedic talents, includingElizabeth Banks, Zooey Deschanel, Rashida Jones, Emily Mortimer, Adam Scott, Steve Coogan, T.J. Miller, Kathryn Hahn, Hugh Dancy, and Janet Montgomery.
I missed the film at Sundance, but our own Chase Whale took it in and really enjoyed it, saying that "Rudd goes for broke and nails the stereotype that all hippies do is smoke pot and live off the fat of the land. He was born for this role. This leading character so likable and hilarious, a sequel wouldn't be a bad idea." Sounds good to me.

The film looks like a funny and feeling take on families and their inherent differences and the friction that can arise from that. Alliteration aside, it looks like a good time for, wait for it, the whole family.
OUR IDIOT BROTHER will be in theaters on August 26.
