Still from Greg Mottola's Paul

We've gotten a look at the first official poster for Greg Mottola's new film PAUL, and now there's a full-length international trailer. The film stars Simon Pegg and Nick Frost as two buddies who go on a road trip to Area 51, where they meet a green alien named Paul (voiced by Seth Rogen) who needs their help to return to his mother ship. Jason Bateman plays the federal agent in charge of capturing Paul at all costs, and Kristen Wiig shows up as a lady they accidentally kidnap.

Check out the trailer after the break.

It definitely reveals more about the film than the teaser from a few months ago, including the fact that whatever species of alien Paul is, they do indeed have quite large genitalia. Because that's what we were all wondering, right?  There's also a CGI alien butt and talk of spaceman balls. The comedy definitely seems to be relying a lot on raunch, but I guess that's not necessarily a bad thing if they can pull off a solid two-men-and-an-alien relationship dynamic.

I'm cautiously on board with this one. Though it looks like a much broader comedy than even SUPERBAD and definitely less character-driven than something like ADVENTURELAND, Pegg and Frost look to have their usual chemistry and a stoner road trip movie with aliens could be fun. Greg Mottola also has a knack for inserting engaging character development in places you'd least expect, so I'm guessing there will be more to PAUL than a string of alien dick jokes. If I had to guess, I'd say the relationship between Pegg's and Frost's characters will provide the emotional backbone to the film, much like that of Michael Cera and Jonah Hill in SUPERBAD. What do you think?
