G.I. JOE: RETALIATION postponed to March 2013 for 3D conversion

Talk about coming out of nowhere.

Various sources (primarily through Twitter, such as THR and Variety) are reporting that Paramount has decided to shift the upcoming film, G.I. JOE: RETALIATION to March 29, 2013, with the hopes of drawing bigger box office through a pending 3D conversion.

The film, originally slated to bow on June 29, has long been anticipated, primarily since the heavy promotional machine kicked off months ago. With toys on store shelves and TV spots airing on the tube, the film was set to screen in just a matter of weeks with press junkets set.

I find this choice to be dumb and out of the blue. While I understand a conversion,  delaying something that is frankly ready to screen this very second is mind blowing. I can’t even describe how silly I think this is.

What about you?
