With much of the buzz surrounding the upcoming Martin Campbell-helmed film, GREEN LANTERN, being of the negative kind, the film has seen a tad bit of a change in mood as of late, and now continuing into today.

The LA Times is reporting that Geoffrey Rush has joined the film’s cast, and will voice the character of Tomar-Re, a member of the Green Lantern Corps, and one of the main people who train the iconic Green Lantern, Hal Jordan.

The film will star Ryan Reynolds, Mark Strong, Blake Lively, and Peter Sarsgaard (along with Michael Clarke Duncan as the alleged voice of the giant Kilowog), and will also mark the first step towards WB’s recently announced plans for a JUSTICE LEAGUE feature. One of the studio’s most important releases for that very reason, it looks like the studio really has the highest of hopes for the project.

Personally, I love the addition of Rush, who will definitely add a bit of class to what appears to be quite an over-the-top film.
