GHOSTBUSTERS 1 and 2 are  films that a remember with a certain fondness. I absolutely love GHOSTBUSTERS 1, and GHOSTBUSTERS 2 gets a free pass (even though it's not that good) because Bill Murray manages to save the film from being a total disaster. So it is with great hesitation that I look forward to GHOSTBUSTERS 3. Bill Murray has all but decided the project is an utter pile of nonsense, citing YEAR ONE as the turning point in his desire to be involved in the project. This should give anyone cause to worry as Harold Ramis and Dan Akroyd continue to soldier on with or without Murray. Now, we have received another tidbit regarding GHOSTBUSTERS 3. Remember Sigourney Weaver's baby from GHOSTBUSTERS 2? His character is slated to be the central focus of the 3rd film. Read on for details...

Bloody Disgusting is reporting that Sigourney Weaver's child from GHOSTBUSTERS 2 is not only Peter Venkman (Bill Murray)'s spawn, but will also take over the reigns of his father's business. Consider my mind officially blown! Whether or not the baby was Venkman's own was a subject that GHOSTBUSTERS 2 danced around. To have confirmation on that is enough to make me interested, but letting that child take over the new Ghostbusters is something else entirely. I think it actually adds some legitimacy to the project and gives GHOSTBUSTERS 3 the full-circle feeling it so desperately needed. Full steam ahead!!

Does news of GHOSTBUSTERS 3 make you cringe or are you feeling more confident in the project as time goes on? Leave your thoughts below.
