Golden Globe 2011 winners announced
With the awards season hitting its peak, the Golden Globes have been announced this evening, and while much of the talk prior to the show was surrounding some relatively silly nominations, all the focus has been solely placed on, as it’s been the entire awards season, THE SOCIAL NETWORK.
The film, which took home this year’s award for Best Motion Picture (Drama), solidified itself as the Oscar frontrunner with its win this evening, and looks to steamroll its way to an Oscar win come a few weeks from now. Its director, David Fincher, took home the award for Best Director, seemingly taking a bit of steam out of the other two horses in this previously deemed three horse race, Darren Aronofsky and Chris Nolan.
However, Aronofsky’s BLACK SWAN was not left empty handed, as actress Natalie Portman won for Best Actress (Drama). Outside of a few shockers (particularly, non-awards wise, Ricky Gervais’ opening monologue), this is slowly becoming quite an uninteresting awards season. Far less so than last year’s at least.
That said, here is the full list of award winners:
