Very rarely am I viscerally awed by a feature film poster.

However, very rarely do we actually get posters quite like this one. Thanks to Vulture, we have a new poster, designed by iconic comic artist Chris Ware, promoting the upcoming Apichatpong Weerasethakul film, the Palme d’Or winning UNCLE BOONMEE WHO CAN RECALL HIS PAST LIVES. And I must say, it’s an absolute wonder.

The film is hard to really describe based on what I’ve heard, as it sounds like a weird story of loss, death and reincarnation, all meshed together in a film that has found various levels of praise. The film has received truly mixed reviews coming out of its Cannes premiere, and while this poster doesn’t change that, it does definitely look absolutely gorgeous. BOONMEE has always been a film that’s interested this writer, so hopefully we’ll get to see it after it premieres in NYC on March 2.
