Guy Pearce joining the cast of IRON MAN 3
I loved IRON MAN. It's certainly one of the better comic book superhero films in existence, due in part, I think, to Robert Downey, Jr. While the sequel failed to live up the tone the first one set - it seemed far too self-aware for me to fully enjoy it. I'm looking forward to IRON MAN 3 for two reasons: Ben Kingsley as the villain, and the newest addition of Guy Pearce.
Variety has reported that Guy Pearce will be joining Downey, Jr., Gwyneth Paltrow, Don Cheadle, Scarlett Johansson, and Kingsley in the third installment of the popular franchise. He will play geneticist Aldrich Killian in a story that culls together plot elements from Warren Ellis' six-issue "Iron Man: Extremis" comic books. In the comics, Killian is responsible for the viral technology that Tony Stark used to become Iron Man after it was sold to the terrorists.
Shane Black will direct from a script he wrote, and the film is set to be released on May 3, 2013.
