Hailee Steinfeld confirms she’s in contention for HUNGER GAMES lead
Hailee Steinfeld has confirmed that she has met with director Gary Ross regarding the role of Katniss Everdeen in the upcoming adaptation of THE HUNGER GAMES.
MTV caught up with Steinfeld while on the red carpet at this year's Academy Awards. Here is what she had to say: "It's definitely something that we're taking one day at a time and making sure that everything is in place." Check out more from Steinfeld, and more about this role, after the break.
Steinfeld is not the only actress up for this highly coveted role. Kaya Scodelario, Chloe Moretz, Malese Jow, and Lyndsy Fonseca are also in contention. I personally would be happy with either Moretz or Steinfeld in the role.
Who do you think is the best choice for the role of Katniss?

THE HUNGER GAMES is scheduled for release in March of 2012.
