Talk about a musical match made in cinematic heaven.

The Playlist has revealed that composer Hans Zimmer, arguably the biggest  name in the world of film music composing today, will be teaming up with one of the most beloved guitar bands around, Rodrigo Y Gabriela, for the upcoming score to the fourth film in the PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN franchise, ON STRANGER TIDES.

Seemingly on the brink of becoming one of the biggest bands around, Rodrigo Y Gabriela have slowly been accumulating quite a bit of love from the public, getting spins on major radio stations, spots on major TV outlets, and even the chance to play at The White House. Zimmer is no slouch either obviously, and has garnered an Oscar nod for INCEPTION.

Personally, while this may seem like a bit of an odd pairing, I absolutely love it. Both parties involved are some of the best at what they do, and Rodrigo Y Gabriela’s brand of guitar music will fit perfectly within the realm of the PIRATES franchise. The film will hit on May 20, with the soundtrack landing on May 17. Be sure to pick that sucker up as soon as possible.
