Henry Cavill is Superman for Zack Snyder
With casting news surrounding WB and Chris Nolan’s final entry in their BATMAN trilogy, THE DARK KNIGHT RISES, making a massive splash a week or so ago, WB has once again stolen the proverbial show.
WB has announced that Henry Cavill has picked up the role of a lifetime, as he will be Superman for Zack Snyder’s upcoming directorial effort, SUPERMAN: THE MAN OF STEEL.
The film, being shepherded by one Christopher Nolan, is being penned by David Goyer, based off of a story crafted by he and Nolan. With a release date of December 2012 looming, Cavill has apparently been the front runner for the past few weeks, with WB deciding on the actor in the past couple of days.
Cavill will next be seen in THE COLD LIGHT OF DAY and the upcoming Tarsem Singh film, IMMORTALS, and is definitely an interesting choice to play the role. He fits the age bracket that WB was rumored to be looking at, and while I’m not massively familiar with his work, what I have seen from him I’ve been really impressed by. He’s a fine actor, and one who I think can really work well in the role.
