HOW DO YOU KNOW to be cut to please MPAA
There are few films out there that throw caution to the wind and try to do something original in today’s Hollywood. James L. Brooks’ HOW DO YOU KNOW is not about to change that trend.
Reese Witherspoon, Paul Rudd, Owen Wilson, and Jack Nicholson star in the upcominng film about a young woman (Witherspoon) trying to decide between two men (Rudd and Wilson). Yawn. Good news, though, it looks like the film's runtime will be shorter! Variety reports that after losing an appeal with the MPAA, Sony will cut some obscenities from the film in order to get a PG-13 rating.
By releasing the film with a PG-13 rating as opposed to an R, Brooks and Sony understand that the film will be able to do more at the box office (more moviegoers will be able to buy a ticket, the film will play in more theatres) when it hits December 17 (mark your calendars). Why have artistic integrity when you can make more money instead?
