Hulu Plus teams with The Criterion Collection to bring you over 150 titles streaming
Well, I guess it’s time to sign up for Hulu Plus now.
Just a day after announcing their amazingly stacked May release line-up, The Criterion Collection has revealed some even bigger news.
The company has released a statement announcing that they have teamed with the online streaming service, Hulu Plus, the subscription based take on the online streaming outlet, Hulu. Among the films are pieces from the names of Fellini, Kurosawa, Truffaut, Wenders, and “hundreds of others,” including films like FOUR FEATHERS which, while not being announced as a Criterion release as of yet, has been long rumored to join the collection.
Now, some of these films have been or are currently available on Netflix Instant Watch (THE RED BALLOON, RATCATCHER, REVANCHE, etc.), but there are a handful of really interesting films from big time names (Bergman’s THE MAGIC FLUTE), and even some Chaplin (THE KID, which has yet to be released by the Collection, as well as CITY LIGHTS).
Personally, I don’t know if I’ll be jumping aboard yet another streaming service, but this definitely makes it all the more appealing. Films like AN ANGEL AT MY TABLE and the absurd MR. FREEDOM make this one hell of an appetizing possibility.
