I HOPE THEY SERVE BEER IN HELL gets a hellacious poster

Oh, come on! I don't know why the poster for I HOPE THEY SERVE BEER IN HELL is so grating to me - after all, the entire existence of this film is grating to me, but beyond being incredibly unoriginal, the poster really closely resembles bad Tucker Max fan art.

For anyone who is familiar with the book on which the film is based, the poster is going to look eerily recognizable to you. There's just something about it that reminds me of something, what could it be? Hmm. Is it the poses? The general color scheme? The jerky grin of our main character? The offensive dotted-line cut-out over Ms. Red Dress? Maybe. Oh, I know! It's all of it. This poster looks exactly like I imagine Mr. Max pictured it when he found out his bestseller was getting the cinematic treatment. In fact, I would not be surprised if he drew it up himself after casting Matt Czuchry as, well, himself.

Hit the jump to see the full poster, and to check out the original cover art for Max's book.
