INCEPTION score spawning a new “augmented sound project” via Hans Zimmer, Chris Nolan, and RjDj
Thought the score to Chris Nolan’s hit (if a little overrated) film INCEPTION wasn’t mindbending enough?
Well damn it, Nolan and his composer right-hand man Hans Zimmer are apparently here to fix that very problem.
According to a source at Reality Jockey (makers of the ever-popular RjDj iPhone app, who recently sat down with Wired UK - and hat tip to The Playlist for finding this article) they, along with Nolan and Zimmer, are working on a new “augmented sound project” based on the INCEPTION score.
The project will apparently “squeeze the music through different 'dreams' (filters) depending on the location, time, date and activity of the user. There are dreams that are only played once a month on full-moon nights, or when the weather is bad, or when someone is traveling at more than 120mph…” Sign me the hell up.
Personally, while I may not have fallen head over heels for the film (I do genuinely think it’s one of the year’s fifteen best films, though), the film’s score is far and away the year’s greatest piece of music. This would only make that music even more stunning, albeit in a non-cinematic way. Expect this one to hit your iTunes software soon, because INCEPTION is due on DVD and Blu-ray on December 7. Honestly, I’m more excited for this than that very release.
