Last night, Tarantino brought his new masterpiece INGLOURIOUS BASTERDS to the Alamo Drafthouse in Austin, TX for a screening and Q&A. We were supposed to attend, but some things came up and we couldn’t make it out there. :(

Good thing our good pals over at The Playlist made it, because they just gave us all a really cool scoop. Sgt. Donny Donowitz, played by a lean and mean Eli Roth, is the father of TRUE ROMANCE’s Lee Donowitz, played by Saul Rubinek. You may remember the fictional war film that made lee famous, COMING HOME IN A BODY BAG.

If you’re a fan of Tarantino, which you should be, then you know he’s huge on giving his movies some form of relation to one another. To name a few – Vincent Vega (John Travolta – PULP FICTION) and Vic Vega (Michael Madsen – RESERVOIR DOGS) are brothers, and Earl McGraw (played be the great Michael Parks) is seen in FROM DUSK TILL DAWN (wrote the screenplay), KILL BILL VOL. 1, PLANET TERROR, and DEATH PROOF.

Pretty cool, huh?

I forgot to add “Apple cigarettes in all his films,” but I can't remember if he put them in INGLOURIOUS BASTERDS or not. Will have to see again to find out, which won't be a problem considering I loved the film!

In Resevior Dogs, Harvey Keitel says some thing like “I'll call my cousin Jimmy. His wife's a nurse.” He was referring to Quentin Tarantino's character in Pulp Fiction.
