International trailer for HANNA kicks ass in so many ways

With buzz being mixed after both its showing at last year’s New York Comic Con and the film’s first trailer being decidedly mixed, Focus Features has released (via MSN) a brand new, international trailer for the upcoming Joe Wright film, HANNA, and I’ll be damned if this doesn’t look absolutely amazing.

Starring Saoirse Ronan as a 16-year-old assassin, who after being raised by her father, meets a loving French family only to have her life again turned upside down as a ruthless CIA agent tracks her down.

The film co-stars Eric Bana, Cate Blanchett, Tom Hollander (who looks delightfully campy here), Olivia Williams and Jason Flemyng, HANNA has distinct tinges of low-key sci-fi as well as all out David Lynchian craziness, with a bit of Jason Bourne thrown in for good measure. You also hear a bit of the score penned by The Chemical Brothers here, and while it’s not much, it is just enough to make the sweetest of love to your ear holes.

Simply put, if you weren’t sold before, get your ass ready for something special, because this thing his on April 8.
