As the summer heats, up so does your local cinema. Aside from TOY STORY 3, the June slate of new releases has been pretty underwhelming. Movies like MARMADUKE and JONAH HEX have left audiences wanting more out of their usually reliable summer movie season. Well, July is looking pretty phenomenal. One of the first weekends in July features the wide release of PREDATORS, the next installment in the popular franchise.

A new trailer has been released, this time of the international variety. Hit the jump for the trailer.

Compared to the previous trailers we've seen, this one sure does pack a punch. Not only does it give the audience a great insight into the narrative concept of the film, but it also delivers the expectation of high octane action with a dash of chilling suspense. It gives us a light introduction into the backstories of a few characters, replete with some great corny dialogue.

What's most exciting about this film is the involvement of A-list actors and directors such as Robert Rodriguez and Adrien Brody. Having those two names on the project gives it instant legitimacy. Throw in a couple recognizable faces like Laurence Fishburne and Danny Trejo and you've got a recipe for awesome.

All in all, I'm pretty excited to see this film when it hits theaters. My only reservations lie in Nimrod Antal, whose previous films haven't really done much for me. Well, that's not entirely true. His 2007 film VACANCY was the first date movie of choice for my girlfriend and I, so that holds a special place in my heart despite its mediocrity. Nevertheless, I'll be catching this movie on opening weekend, July 9th.
