Intriguingly simple poster debuts for LEAP YEAR
Before you make a fool of yourself, no, I'm not talking about the Amy Adams rom-com from last year. Rather, there is a wholly more interesting film which came out of the 2010 Cannes Film Festival with the same title. While it's been some time since that year's festival, this film is just now getting some traction.
As an example of that traction, the film has just come out with a new poster for the indie project. Check out the full sized image, after the jump.
Like I said, the poster is quite simple. The image of a couple grasping each other so intently is definitely engaging. However, the expression on each character's face is what makes this poster so intriguing. The official synopsis weaves a web of interest for me, as a well told love story that can easily become timeless:
"Laura is 25 years old. She’s a journalist, she’s single and lives in a small apartment in Mexico City. After a series of short-lived affairs, Laura meets Arturo. After the first time they make love, she is left deeply unsettled. They embark on an intense and passionate sexual relationship, in which pleasure, pain and love merge. As days go by which Laura conscientiously crosses out in a calendar, her secret past resurfaces, pushing Arturo to the limit."
The film will see theaters starting June 24, thanks to Strand Releasing.
