UPDATED: Is JURASSIC PARK 4 gearing up for production?
UPDATED: Badass Digest, as the badasses that they are, spoke to Universal who simply denied that the film was shooting, which should shock no one. So either they are really hiding this flick, or someone at the studio decided to play a joke, but until further notice, there is nothing to see here. Shucks.
Chalk this one up as the very highest (or should I say lowest) type of rumor, but apparently, without a cast or crew, possibly not even a finalized screenplay, it appears as though something is moving over at Universal with regards to a possible JURASSIC PARK 4.
According to a photo released over at BehindTheThrills.com (via AICN), JURASSIC PARK 4 is currently taking up stages 7, 10, 12, and 14 over at the Universal lot, and has even taken over Spielberg’s old blue screen stage used for WAR OF THE WORLDS.
Last we heard, Joe Johnston was helming the picture, but with him likely in the CAPTAIN AMERICA chair until late this summer/fall, he’s likely not the one that will be bringing us back into this world, unless, as these photos may very well suggest, it’s in the very earliest stages of production.
Personally, this is one story that I’ll believe when my own damn eyes are seeing it. I wouldn’t be shocked if an announcement teaser was being shot, with Johnston helming the film starting fall of this year, or likely spring of next year, but to say that the film has truly started production appears to be a bit of overkill. For all we know some guy may have just written it up as a joke. Honestly, I’d be a bit shocked if it were actually anything more than that.
That said, I do actually want a fourth JP film. One that’s preferably not directed by Johnston, but if need be; as long as we see some well made dinosaurs, I’ll be a bit of a happy camper.
What do you think?
