Sacha Baron Cohen is set to star as super sleuth Sherlock Holmes in an upcoming untitled comedy being produced by Judd Apatow.  Will Ferrell will be joining him as Watson, his lovable crime solving sidekick.  The three of them have worked together before in Talladega Nights: The Story of Ricky Bobby.  This adapation will be inspired by the Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's tales but will be given a new comical spin by Etan Cohen who wrote the upcoming Ben Stiller directed flick Tropic Thunder

This is the second film to be announced to feature Mr. Holmes the other being a dramatic take by director Guy Ritchie who is eyeing Robert Downey Jr for the role.  It seems movies tend to come in pairs now  a days and I can't wait to see what direction both these films take, because there has not been a good adaptation of Sherlock Holmes since Barry Levinson's Young Sherlock Holmes from 1985.  So stay tuned for more info as the productions get underway.
