JACK THE GIANT KILLER snags Ewan McGregor
The people behind JACK THE GIANT KILLER have been going cast-crazy lately, and are seemingly announcing the entire cast. First they announced that Stanley Tucci and Bill Nighy were joining its cast, then they announced Nicholas Hoult (Beast in the upcoming X-MEN: FIRST CLASS) a the lead role. Now we are hearing about another big name joining the cast, and this one is a Jedi.
Ewan McGregor will be taking up the role of the King's Guard Leader who joins Jack in his giant-killing adventure. This seems like a really fitting role for McGregor to take up, as he's played a great mentor before. With Bryan Singer directing, I have a feeling they will give him plenty of moments of bad-assery.
The addition of McGregor only makes this film even more exciting to me. I have trouble thinking about a Singer movie I haven't liked, even with SUPERMAN RETURNS and VALKYRIE on his filmography. I have no doubt that under his direction this film will be pretty fantastic.
Now the last hurdle that they have is finding the right actress to play the princess; the recent casting for the film has shown us we have nothing to worry about, though. What do you guys think of McGregor joining the cast? Who do you think should play the princess?
