Jailhouse Rock! George Clooney gets cuffed
In addition to actor and humanitarian, add "arrested while protesting" to George Clooney's list of career achievements.
Demonstrating that he is one to walk the walk, George Clooney was arrested this morning in Washington, DC, protesting outside of the Sudanese embassy. The actor, who recently completed and eight-day trip to Sudan's Nuba Mountains stated that the Khartoum government is undergoing at attempt at ethnic cleansing that includes aerial bombardments, forcing farmers in the region to take shelter in caves. Other notable protestors included U.S. Representative Jim Moran, a Democrat from Virginia, NAACP president Ben Jealous, Martin Luther King III - and George Clooney's own father, Nick.
When asked what Clooney thought about being arrested with his ex-journalist father, the actor responded by saying, "I'm proud to be standing here with my father."
