James Bond’s next outing has been suspended, SPECTRE possibly to blame
James Bond has been a favorite of mine since I was just a wee little guy, with the recent two incarnations starring Daniel Craig reaffirming my love for the series. Even though both films were major financial successes, and MGM assured us that the James Bond franchise would be okay despite their financial woes, it seems that isn't entirely true. It now looks as if the next Bond feature has been suspended indefinitely.
This news comes to us through a press release put out by Bond producers Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli, which you can check out after the break.
"Due to the continuing uncertainty surrounding the future of MGM and the failure to close a sale of the studio, we have suspended development on ‘Bond 23′ indefinitely. We do not know when development will resume and do not have a date for the release of ‘Bond 23.'"
Of course, it is highly unlikely that this will be marked as the end of the franchise. Even after being around for almost half a century, the franchise still rakes in the dough. The bigger question is if Daniel Craig will return as Bond. I genuinely think he is still enjoying doing the role, so I have a feeling he'll be back. I guess we'll find out more in the coming months.
