James Cameron talks AVATAR with 60 MINUTES
“60 Minutes” is one of the most highly regarded news magazine programs on television and yesterday James Cameron made an appearance to talk about AVATAR, his new movie, which will arrive in theaters in less than a month.
It’s great that after years of reading about it, we’re finally seeing some behind-the-scenes action on the AVATAR set, but what I loved most about the interview was hearing Cameron talk movies. Especially when he says, “this is the film I always wanted to make.” Big talk from the guy who has already made some of the greatest sci-fi movies of modern cinema.
Most people would be feeling the pressure from such high expectations, but James Cameron seems cool as a cucumber, working away and making sure that everything is perfect to the last detail. In fact, when the piece aired yesterday, he was still tweaking the movie! I guess that’s the advantage in working in digital. Watch the full 12-minute interview after the jump.
