James Franco and “Three’s Company” – a winning combination?
At least, that's what the Three's Company estate feel, especially after seeing what he's capable of doing with it.
If you have not yet seen what Vulture reported back at Sundance about the art exhibit (of sorts) that James Franco and some of his friends did with Three's Company, well, to put it simply, hilarity ensued when Franco himself doffed a blonde Suzanne Somers wig and belted out the Three's Company theme song, as well as another interesting number called "Chewing Gum." Intermixed between musical numbers there were jokes and desperation.
And was that enough for Franco to get the chance to develop a Three's Company feature film? Apparently.
"When we were accepted to Sundance, we didn't have the series rights, but then the Three's Company estate contacted us. At first they were opposed to it, but then they saw what we did and loved it. So they are now talking to us about developing a Three's Company feature film and an off-Broadway play," Franco told Vulture.
I used to watch Three's Company after school all the time (reruns, that is), and I would love to see new material, even if it is with a new cast. And? James Franco is hilarious.
As always, any more news we get about this project we will post up as soon as we can get our whale flippers on it.
