If there is one thing that the horror film INSIDIOUS proved, it’s that director James Wan knows his way around a haunted house.

Well, Variety is reporting that he’ll be returning to that world, thanks to a new film entitled THE CONJURING. The film is penned by Carey and Chad Hayes, with the film being inspired by the story of the Perron family who spent years attempting to deal with some not-so-friendly spirits in their farmhouse in Harrisville, Rhode Island.

The film is being formed over at New Line, but no start date has been revealed as of yet.

Personally, INSIDIOUS is not only the best horror film I’ve seen in year, but it may be the crown jewel of the genre over the past couple of years. It’s a fantastic film, one that is both great on the acting front, and most importantly, brilliant on the atmosphere side of things. Wan is a fantastic director when it comes to a film’s tone and mood, so of course, the haunted house world would be absolutely perfect for him.
