Jeff Bridges to play exorcist for THE LAST APPRENTICE
Apparently, even Jeff Bridges is down for some young adult novel projects.
Just days after it was first announced that Bridges was offered a role in the upcoming adaptation of the Y.A. book series, The Wardstone Chronicles, penned by Joseph Delaney, we now have a lot more information on the project. The film, entitled THE LAST APPRENTICE, will follow the seventh son of a seventh son during the 1700s, who ultimately finds out that he see evil creatures, and must learn to fight them.
Well, Bridges has accepted the offer, at least if JustJared is to be believed (and a hat tip goes out to The Playlist).
The actor will play an exorcist who mentors and trains our lead, Tom, a role that has been offered to current “it” Y.A. go to guy, Alex Pettyfer. Toss in Jennifer Lawrence, who has been offered the role of a witch, and despite the obvious attraction to skepticism, this may not ultimately be the worst thing ever.
Sergey Bodrov has been attached to the film for some time, and with Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures behind it, this may ultimately prove to be something of a gem. Call it wishful thinking.
