I love Jennifer Connelly.

There is not a single actress of her era more talented or attractive than Connelly, so anytime she is attached to a project, I’m down to shell out some cash to watch her work her magic on the silver screen.

According to Variety, I may get to do that yet again.

The outlet is reporting that, along with Greg Kinnear, she has joined the cast of the upcoming comedy-thriller, SALVATION BOULEVARD, for Mandalay Vision.  The duo will be joining Ed Harris, Jim Gaffigan and Pierce Brosnan in the upcoming film penned by Douglas Stone, and directed by George Ratliff, who last put the film JOSHUA, onto celluloid.

Here’s a brief synopsis on the film, which is based on a book by Larry Beinhart:

SALVATION BOULEVARD centers on a former Deadhead turned born-again Christian who finds himself on the run from fundamental members of his mega-church who will do anything to protect their larger-than-life pastor.

As I mentioned above, anything Connelly attaches her name to, I’ll be interested in.  The premise makes it sound like not my cup of tea, but it’s also a bit interesting.  I like the idea of a comedy-thriller, so hopefully, given the talent involved, this can turn out to be quite the pleasant surprise.  It’s a film I’m sure as hell rooting for.
