Jeremy Irons joins the already impressive cast of MARGIN CALL
Just last month we began to see the cast for J.C. Chandor’s MARGIN CALL really come together. With names like Paul Bettany, Kevin Spacey, Stanley Tucci, and Zachary Quinto involved, the film was already shaping up to be quite the well-acted venture, and the later additions of Demi Moore and Simon Baker didn’t hurt, either.
Now, word is out that the veteran thespian Jeremy Irons is joining this film, which looks at the lives of several investment bankers as the largest financial crisis of our generation approaches. Or more specifically, the 24 hour period that leads up to and follows through the initial news, and of course the fallout from that.
Irons will take on the unfortunate role of the firm’s CEO, which is not exactly where I would have wanted to be just before the 2008 crash…well, maybe just before it, you know, when they were getting free trips all over the world and getting ridiculous bonuses. One thing is sure though, at the point that this film takes place, CEO is probably the last place anyone would want to be. Prepare to see Irons put the emotions on full display!
