Talk about having one hell of a career.

With THE TREE OF LIFE set to finally hit theaters next year, actress Jessica Chastain is set to follow up working with one Terrence Malick, with apparently working with one of today’s most interesting filmmakers, John Hillcoat.

THR is reporting that the actress has joined the cast of the recently revived take on the Matt Bondurant novel, The Wettest County, which follows three brothers who run a bootlegging gang. The gang ultimately comes under fire from the authorities, who want a piece of the economic pie being brought in by the business.

The film will be led by Tom Hardy and Shia LaBeouf, with Chastain taking up the role of Hardy’s love interest in the picture. The film has been penned by Nick Cave, and is set to shockingly shoot come February 2011. It was long dead, before a few weeks ago, when we got wind of a new take on the project, and now it, thankfully, looks like everything is falling into place.

Personally, while I’m not too familiar with Chastain’s work, I do have to say, she is building a nice resume here, and I could only hope for half the career she has had. This film is sounding more and more like a real winner, so it’s far and away one of my more anticipated upcoming projects.
