In the wake of a recently ended legal battle, it looks as though Roman Polanski’s upcoming follow-up to this year’s rather taut and well-crafted thriller, THE GHOST WRITER, has just rounded out its cast in an interesting fashion.

According to Deadline, John C. Reilly will join Jodie Foster, Kate Winslet, and Christoph Waltz in the upcoming adaptation of Yasmina Reva’s novel, God Of Carnage. The film will follow two groups of parents who meet after their spawn are in an altercation at school.

The relationships will be Reilly and Foster as one couple, with Winslet and Waltz as another, and while we originally thought James Gandolfini would reprise the performance for which he brought to the stage, Reilly is more than a fitting substitute. This will mark a rather interesting step into even more dramatic territory for the thespian, who made his name in films like MAGNOLIA and HARD 8. Personally, this only adds to my anticipation for that film, which is already one of the projects I’m most interested in checking out.
