With the film's director being one of the hottest names around, it comes as no shock that his next film will be getting a great cast. Variety has revealed that actor John Goodman is in negotiations to join the cast of director Ben Affleck’s upcoming film, ARGO. ARGO will tell the story of the CIA operation to bring home a group of diplomats who were taken hostage in Tehran after the Iranian revolution in 1979. By posing as a group of Hollywood elite shooting a film, the hostages were freed and now, thanks to Ben Affleck, the story is coming to the big screen.

Affleck is set to see his cast head into a safe house for two weeks in preparation for the film, and is said to be a bit lighter in tone than much of Affleck’s previous work. The film will deal with some heavy topics, but the fake film stuff should be relatively comical, making this an interesting change of pace for the fantastic filmmaker.

Overall, the film is shaping up to be one hell of a project. The cast looks to be impeccable, and with Affleck being one of the most sought after names in the filmmaking world, one can only imagine just how much hype a project like this will have. Hopefully this thing can live up to that very hype.
