John Slattery and Sam Elliott up for role of J. Jonah Jameson in Sony’s SPIDER-MAN reboot
As if today couldn’t feature any more franchise film news.
With Robert Rodriguez allegedly leaving DEADPOOL, THE HOBBIT staying in New Zealand, and BATMAN 3 getting a bit of an update, Sony appears to want to jump in on the party.
According to What’s Playing (via The Playlist), Mad Menstar John Slattery and overall king of all bearded badasses Sam Elliott are currently atop a list of possible candidates to take up the role of J. Jonah Jameson in the upcoming SPIDER-MAN reboot.
Now, while no one will truly be able to take on the role with such perfection as the last man behind the grey hair, J.K. Simmons, I do have to say, I kind of love these choices. Personally, I think Slattery fits the character a bit better, but Elliot’s voice itself may be enough to make that character amazing. I do genuinely like both of these choices, and I think that both would be great fits for the character. Slattery is a bit more my cup of Jameson tea, but if you would be upset to see Elliott in anything, then I don’t know why the hell you are alive.
