If you are interested in reading the details on why Johnny Greenwood's score was disqualified for an Oscar, click HERE. Paramount Vantage was also given word that Into The Wild was also ineligible due to the same reasons, even though Eddie Vedder wrote three original songs for the film. (Not even a nom. for best original song? Thanks!) If you're feeling a bit bitter about this like myself, feel free to express your opinions here.

I’m glad he’s disqualified. That shows a gleam of hope that Radiohead mediocrity hasn’t dominated the world. Greenwood just needs to be like the other film composers and write an original score in the STYLE of a composer rather than use living composers’(Arvo Part) material in his own work. At least Greenwood’s being treated like any other nominee and not shown favoritism because of who he plays guitar for.
