Jon Hamm in the running for SUPERMAN?

If anything is obvious at this point, it's that Jon Hamm must be seen in tights. Hamm has been considered for Captain America, Green Lantern, Green Arrow, Batman, and Mighty Mouse (okay, maybe not Mighty Mouse...yet!). Now it seems Hamm's name is in the running for yet another superhero, and this time it's a doozy.

Could Jon Hamm be in the running to play Superman in the Chris Nolan penned reboot?

According to sources close to Think McFly Think, Warner Bros. is "seriously considering" Mr. Don Draper himself, Jon Hamm. The main concern is that Hamm would be forty by the time THE MAN OF STEEL begins filming, and some people feel a younger option is a better one. While I can understand peoples' concerns, I can't really imagine a more perfect fit for Superman. It's no exaggeration to call Superman an American icon and after the absolutely terrible SUPERMAN RETURNS, a little Hamm is just what ol' S-chest needs.

Start making your Hamm for Superman shirts now, in a few months they'll become irrelevant when someone less awesome lands the part (I'm looking at you, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson).

Would Jon Hamm make a great Superman or should they look around some more? Leave your thoughts below!

I think Jon Hamm would have been a good choice if he were a few years younger. They should look for someone around 29-31 to take on the role, and I do believe the best choice would be a complete unknown who is then supported by an full star cast. I feel that the Nolan brothers and the studio should take their time, do an open casting call if need be, and find the right man to fill this role.

People need to believe in Superman as a character and there are plenty of young unknowns out there who would be great in the part. After all who heard of Chrisopher Reeve prior to 1979 or Hugh Jackman prior to 2000.

Hmm…..shouldn’t the studio be looking for a younger actor, maybe late 20s or early 30s?

No he wouldn't. I like the guy but there was nothing wrong with Brandon Roth as Superman the movie was just not that good. I say keep Brandon or don't do Superman (period)

No one will ever be Superman other than Christopher Reeve. It will always be a bad copy to him.

I've wanted Hamm to be Superman ever since it was announced of the re-boot. Everytime I take a look-see at Madmen, I can't help but hear the Superman theme in my head when Jon Hamm is on screen. He's perfect. His dramatized acting ability can go a long ways. He is a mature, hard looking badass, something the character needs. Superman is a character of myth that exists for over 70 years. Why couldn't an actor of Hamm's age play that? An experienced looking, been through hell, been there done that Superman is just what the doctor ordered to actually take Supes seriously, and Jon Hamm is the PERFECT candidate.

MAKE IT HAPPEN, WARNER! Jon Hamm as Superman!
