There really are very few, if any, filmmakers working today quite like director Jonathan Demme.

The same man behind films like THE SILENCE OF THE LAMBS and the brilliant RACHEL GETTING MARRIED is one to never quite do the same film twice, let alone back to back, so it’s quite difficult to really tell what he will be doing next. However, we may finally know what Demme's next project is. Check out the full story after the break.

According to Deadline, the director is set to helm a screenplay penned by Paul Haggis entitled HONEYMOON WITH HARRY, with Robert De Niro and Bradley Cooper attached to star. The film follows an alcoholic who, after falling for a woman, must reform his ways, only to have his bride perish days before their wedding, sending him in a downward spiral. He meets the woman’s father, who must go and scatter his daughter's ashes on her favorite beach.

Personally, I think this sounds right up his alley. This seems like the perfect material for the same director of an equally personal project, RACHEL GETTING MARRIED, and with the likes of Cooper and De Niro, you really can’t go wrong. I would see a film based on the phone book if directed by Demme, so honestly, this sounds like a fantastic film that I’m keeping an ever-so-keen eye on.
