Joseph Gordon-Levitt might go gangsta in THE DARK KNIGHT RISES
Joseph Gordon-Levitt has been rumored to appear in Christopher Nolan's trilogy capper THE DARK NIGHT RISES for just over a week, with speculation ranging from the young actor being cast as The Riddler or possibly even Robin in the new film.
Those both seemed unlikely, especially the latter, given the way Nolan has set up his particular vision of the Batman universe, but a new casting rumor seems to make a lot more sense and tie into BATMAN BEGINS.
Remember Carmine Falcone (played by Tom Wilkinson) in the first film? Falcone's vast underworld empire was put to an end thanks to Batman and it looks like his son, Alberto Falcone, might be out for revenge. Gordon-Levitt may be circling the role of Alberto, a prominent character in the graphic novel The Long Halloween - the acclaimed Batman epic that Nolan has obviously been influenced by before.
The connection between Alberto Falcone and Selena Kyle a.k.a. Catwoman in The Long Halloween and subsequent sequels Dark Victory and Catwoman: When in Rome gives even more weight to this latest rumor, seeing how Anne Hathaway has already been cast as the feline vixen.
Don't be surprised if we see a confirmation some time in the near future.
