A few days ago (3 to be exact. That would make it Sunday), Mr. Director Rian Johnson tweeted a photo prefaced by only this: "@hitRECordJoe (sort of)." @hitRECordJoe is of course Joseph Gordon-Levitt, star of Johnson's adolescent film noir BRICK and star of his upcoming time travel escapade LOOPER.

Clicking on the link gave you the following photo, insinuating that either Johnson is going for a shot-by-shot remake of a scene out of TOTAL RECALL or the more likely possibility that he's getting fancy with effects for his third film.

Check out the photo to see for yourself after the break. And if you have yet to see BRICK and/or THE BROTHERS BLOOM, then I guess you just found your plans for tonight as you should remedy that ASAP.

Here's what we know about LOOPER thus far. It is about time travel. It stars Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Bruce Willis, and Emily Blunt. It is..."set in a near future where time travel doesn’t exist but will be invented in a few decades. [The story] involves a group of killers (called Loopers) who work for a crime syndicate in the future. Their bosses send their targets hogtied and blindfolded back in time to the Loopers, and their job is simply shoot them in the head and dispose of the body. So the target vanishes from the future and the Loopers dispose of a corpse that doesn’t technically exist, a very clean system. Complications set in from there.” And that's straight from the mouth of Mr. Johnson, so you can take that to the bank!
