Joseph Gordon-Levitt steals James McAvoy away from CANCER
Seth Rogen's I'M WITH CANCER has been moving along at a swift pace the last few months. James McAvoy was set to star in the drama about a twenty-something battling cancer and juggling his personal life at the same time. The film started shooting last month in Canada, but McAvoy put the brakes on the project and has decided to step out of the lead role. Seth Rogen, who is producing and co-starring, had this to say about the switch-up...
“It’s incredibly unfortunate that circumstances outside of everyone’s control have taken James away from the project, but, with James’ blessing, we were able to have Joseph step in to take on the [lead] role of Adam. We all look forward to working with James in the future.”
So now the project is back on track with Joseph Gordon-Levitt taking the reins. I for one could not be more pleased with the change. Gordon-Levitt is an incredible powerhouse in young acting and I am excited to see him take on a more mature role like this one. McAvoy's departure is unfortunate because he, as well, is a talented actor who deserves more recognition (please cast him as Bilbo Baggins in THE HOBBIT, PLEASE!)
Anna Kendrick (UP IN THE AIR) is also set to star in the the flick. I'M WITH CANCER is set to release sometime this year.
