This is how you put together a cast.

According to Showbiz411, Josh Brolin is set to join the cast of the upcoming Diablo Cody-penned film, YOUNG ADULT. Cody herself has said that the film follows a “woman stalking her high school sweetheart that has elements of humor, but it’s pretty serious.”

Brolin will be playing the film’s lead, which entails him being the former high school boyfriend, who just so happens to now be married and with kids, who our 30-something author, played by Charlize Theron, is so hellbent on stalking.

The script has already garnered rather rave reviews, and has been called “Cody’s most mature effort,” and while that is all fine and dandy, this cast really adds a ton of hype to this already anticipated project. Oh, and according to a little tweet sent out by one Jason Reitman, the film’s already gone into pre-production.

With Cody writing, Theron and Brolin starring, and Reitman directing, this has all the makings to be one hell of a film. Expect a lot of news on this one to come rather soon.
