Josh Hartnett will be our GUNSLINGER
Josh Harnett (30 DAYS OF NIGHT, WICKER PARK) has just signed on to star in the GUNSLINGER, which will be helmed by Chris Nahon (BLOOD: THE LAST VAMPIRE). The film is "a revenge-driven tale set in the near future in the snowy wasteland of a post-apocalyptic America." Josh will star as the lead who foots out to kill the gang who murdered his dear old mom and dad. Along his side to avenge his parents death is his brother, who's casting announcement hasn't been announced at the moment. Not sure why, but I keep visioning Anton Yelchin to fill that part. What do you think?
"This story takes a unique and startling look at what might happen when the lawlessness of the Old West returns ... but with better weapons," producer Mark Williams said. Mark will be producing GUNSLINGER along with 2B Pictures' Albert Martinez Martin.
This GUNSLINGER has no relationship with Stephen King's "The Dark Towers" series, which includes a section called "The Gunslinger." J.J. Abrams is apparently attached to adapt and direct that.
Shooting begins in Canada early next year.
