Joss Whedon and Eliza Dushku to reunite for feature film?

So the big post-"Dollhouse" question for both Joss Whedon and Eliza Dushku is “what’s next?”

Well, it looks like it may be the same answer for both.

According to Hollywood Life (via /Film), while on the red carpet for Discovery Channel’s "LIFE", Dushku had this to say about a potential reteam with Whedon, this time, on the big screen:

I would say that we would [be working on something very new soon]! I think we’re going to work on a kickass feature together that we’ve been thinking about for a few years.

/Film posits the idea that this film may just be the much talked about horror film, GONERS, and the idea that it’s something that’s been on the shelf for a while, makes GONERS a distinct possibility.  The film has been talked about for a long time now, and is a fantasy thriller that follows a young woman in a story that is (according to the Wikipedia page) “more in the BUFFY-mode of discovering strength than in the sense of, “I’ve had strength for so long that I’m losing my sense of people who don’t.”  It’s a horror project and is a completely original project set in the present day, all from the mind of Whedon.

Sound awesome? Thought so.  I’ll let that description steep for a second, like a tea of badassery.

Personally, I really dug the hell out of DOLLHOUSE, and while Dushku isn’t the greatest actress ever, I think an action/horror film may perfectly suit her. She is beautiful, and could also stab you in the neck, which for a horror protagonist, sounds just about right. Throw in the idea of the film being helmed by Joss Whedon, and you have a project that sounds like it came right out of one of the corners of my mind. The most awesome corner.

What do you think?
