McCarthy might star with Jon Hamm in "unconventional love story"

Last week it was revealed that Judd Apatow and Paul Feig, who teamed up to respectively produce and direct the sleeper hit BRIDESMAIDS, will collaborate once again to make “an unconventional love story” to be distributed by Universal. Just last week, GATW’s own Kate Erbland speculated that this was the same film Feig was planning on making for Melissa McCarthy, who stole scenes left and right in BRIDESMAIDS…and it looks like she was right!

Deadline Hollywood reports that this “unconventional love story” involves a man obsessing over a woman. The roles are intended for Jon Hamm and Melissa McCarthy, but not even as much as negotiations have begun just yet, so nothing’s set in stone.

Hamm and McCarthy have proven themselves to be extraordinarily gifted actors, especially within the realm of comedy. As a romantic duo, they could be a complete riot. They’ll probably sign on for the project, and hopefully they will, as it'd be a much less interesting movie without them.
