Is there any better way to class up a film’s cast than by adding Judi Dench?

That is exactly what Clint Eastwood has apparently done for his upcoming film, J. EDGAR. In speaking to SandwichJohnFilms (via The Playlist), the director revealed that not only does he “think” that actress Charlize Theron will be in the film (confirming rumors that have been floating around for a good month now), but “Judi Dench is definitely in the film, and there we are.” Could this cast get any better?

Dench joins Leonardo DiCaprio and Armie Hammer in the upcoming film, which looks at the life of the titular first Director of the FBI, J. Edgar Hoover. DiCaprio will be playing the man himself, with Hammer playing Clyde Tolson, his once rumored lover, and long time assistant. Actor Damon Herriman rounds out the film’s cast, and with a script penned by Dustin Lance Black, this is shaping up to be one of 2011’s most anticipated films.

It’s far and away one of this writer’s most hotly anticipated projects, and with filming starting in February, we’ll get to see this one relatively soon. We don’t know what Dench’s role will be exactly, but does it really matter? She’s one of the world’s most well-respected thespians, and proves time after time that she is still an actress to be reckoned with.
