Juno Temple and Gina Gershon join KILLER JOE
The news from the American Film Market continues to roll on out.
According to ComingSoon, not only do we have our first piece of promotional art for the upcoming film, KILLER JOE, but we also now know that both Gina Gershon and Juno Temple have joined the film's cast, which includes Matthew McConaughey, Emile Hirsch, and Thomas Haden Church.
For those who may not know, KILLER JOE is the newest film from writer Tracy Letts, and will be helmed by BUG and THE EXORCIST helmer William Friedkin, and follows a drug dealer who needs to come up with six thousand bucks to pay a debt. He goes to meet “Killer Joe” who he hires to help him cash in his mom’s $50,000 life insurance policy (after all, the mom is the one who stole his merchandise), before it’s too late.
The film begins shooting on November 8 in New Orleans, and I do have to say, this is one film I can’t wait to check out. Friedkin is a fantastic filmmaker, and with a cast like this, you really can’t lose here. Sure, McConaughey gives me pause, but overall, this is a really great and interesting cast, particularly with the addition of Temple, an actress I’m really a big fan of.
