Justin Bieber biopic still alive; Jon Chu to direct

This thing will not die.

After losing its director 24 hours after it was announced, Paramount has found a director for its upcoming 3D Justin Bieber biopic, and it’s a name Bieber fans may be used to seeing.

Deadline is reporting that Jon Chu, director of the last two STEP UP films, has joined the project, with production on the film already getting underway. Cameras will be following Beiber’s current tour for behind-the-scenes footage, with the release date currently set for February 11, 2011.

Again, while this news does nothing for me, Beiber obviously has a  rabid pre-teen fanbase who will come out in droves to watch whatever their deity has his name attached to. The kid is playing Madison Square Garden at the end of the month, so he can certainly sell a fair share of movie tickets.

Justin Bieber is amazing and has so much talent. I love singing along to all of his songs. He’s really dreamy.

I’m not a fan of Bieber but just because you don’t like him, doesn’t mean you have to talk trash about him. Not everyone likes chocolate, doesn’t mean it sucks. (My prior comments on other questions about Bieber stemmed from the fact that I didn’t know who he was.)
