Kathryn Morris to play MONEYBALL
Cold Case star Kathryn Morris has signed on to play Brad Pitt's second wife in MONEYBALL. The film is based on the book Moneyball: The Art of Winning an Unfair Game. Pitt is attached to play former major league baseball player and general manager Billy Beane.
According to Wikipedia, the story centers on "the team's modernized, analytical, sabermetric approach to assembling a competitive baseball team, despite Oakland's disadvantaged revenue situation." I'm not even going to pretend that I didn't have to look up "sabermetric." Thanks Webster's! Morris' role will see her sharing her husband's passion for the game, so I'm guessing there will be a lot of her giving understanding and supportive pep talks and looks.
In addition to Brad Pitt and Kathryn Morris, the film also stars Philip Seymour Hoffman, Jonah Hill, Robin Wright, and Stephen Bishop.
MONEYBALL begins shooting next week in Los Angeles, before continuing to shoot in Oakland. Bennett Miller is directing from Aaron Sorkin's revision of a script by Steve Zaillian.
